Assisted living is very expensive, and many people stay at home where they can have home health nurses come by to administer any medically needed treatments, making it more affordable.

What I don't get is that people, after reading less than 10,000 words on a person's 96 year-long life, somehow glean enough information to questions her decisions and throw around phrases like "more like a hoarder of money than an investor and I am not impressed" and "total lack of caring for family".No talk about her work ethic, loyalty, selflessness, wiliness to learn, discipline?

The whining is that flipping doesn't get the highly preferential treatment that actual real estate investing gets. 

These are professionals with additional training and a stricter code of ethics.

Many "Mom n Pop" investors care about their tenants and want to pass them along to ethical people.

That fits the definition of property eligible for 1031 treatment and I think you've got a good case.

If you still make a good return, even after splitting some of the net, I don't see what the problem is... as long as there is no criminal, civil, or ethical concerns.I would certainly work his butt of though.

I wouldn't be ethically setting her up for success in life if I treated her like a "warm body" to just fill the vacancy.
