The landlord is charged if they want the rent "next day" instead of a couple of business days.   

Additionally it takes 3 business days for the epayments to process into the landlord accounts.

Getting pre=approaved for a VA loan has typically only taken me 1 business day, and if a property comes across, that would be a killer deal I would not rule out purchasing before moving to the new location.
