You can usually migrate from one to the other without too much headache.1) COST - QB Desktop is sold as a flat application cost ($200-$1,000) while QB Online is sold on a Software as a service (SAAS) model (monthly subscription $10-$150).2) UPDATES - W/ QB Desktop you will need to buy the new version and upgrade to receive any updates.

In theory, it's a "real estate agent only" subscription-based service that enables real estate brokers to 1) advertise listings, and 2) offer compensation to other agents (for example: the listing broker charges the seller X% commission, and then offers a portion of that commission to a buyer's agent who brings the buyer).

Note on Quicken, I personally prefer the older versions (non-web based) which you can purchase on the internet for pretty cheap price and don't have a recurring fee each year for a subscription (Quicken 2016 and earlier I believe).
