The electricity isn't knob and tube and doesn't present much difficulty to maintain and modernize, the plumbing is all pretty simple (single stack).

Just because I was wrong about a concept with real estate does not mean I have a utopian view of society; however, I had bad information.

For example a dated kitchen with walls yellow from cigarette smoke and a 60 year old oven is fine, a kitchen that you can't cook food in is not fine -- even if it is otherwise modern, new, and clean. 

I'd like to hope Im wrong but I think our society speaks for itself.  

There are many ways to build and customize the containers to make the home look really modern and nice so I think it's great for short term rental.

If you play the victim, you will be a victim of society, of government, of your circumstances, of your upbringing.

Since the only things I have seen so far that weren't holding up are those they have been done in the last decade, I would have to lean way towards the 93 yr old parts being much safer than the 13 yr old crap.Of course, I had to mention the whole part about it being a fire trap, which seems to be what helped burn Chicago down back in the day, But with modern tech, that shouldn't be as worrisome as back then.Anyone with anything you think I should know, need to , or what to know about balloon framed houses.  

Historic preservation is not an issue, so it could be completely demolished and modernized.

Leave those money pits to historic societies that don't care about money. 

These modern routers will handle multiple users and multiple connections much better than earlier devices.
