I can totally see neighborhoods with smaller homes being built (on smaller parcels) to accommodate the lack of housing.Common sense would also suggest building more apartment buildings - and one would think both local and federal governments would embrace this idea - but of course in too many areas these very governments also want to curse builders with some or all of the following: excess red-tape, permit nightmares, high property taxes, and never-ending eviction moratoriums.

We went with his plan, but this inspector won't allow outlets from both apartments in that side as he considers it penetration of the fire wall.We are exploring the fireproofing that spray foam offers thinking we can fill the cavity and eliminate the cavity on one side.

If this property were in Chicago (like Oak Park) and not Indianapolis, it might seem more clear to me to stick with the original design concept and truly embrace the more 'old world' feel, for Indianapolis however where modern looking flips are in steady/constant supply, it's more questionable.
