Purchase price: $425,000 Well loved and maintained half duplex in Wheat Ridge.

I rented a cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains and spent $1,000.00 for 4 nights Air B&B.

If you want to continue using the property as a short term rental after moving out, you'll need to stick to Arvada and Wheat Ridge (unincorporated Adams County is also an option, but you mentioned wanting to be on the west side of the city). 

Very simple solution is to vent it to the ridge vent so you dont need to install an exhaust.

This is the same for smaller cabin markets like Blue Ridge where you can already see price drops on types of cabins that were being bid up way over list merely 3 months ago. 

@Reid SealbyYou're only slightly off -- Denver's ranked the 5th most expensive city in the country.Not sure what you're looking for, but there are some mountain communities outside of Colorado Springs that are decent for Airbnb and short-term rentals -- Woodland Park, Divide, Florissant -- and aren't quite as expensive as your Denver area STR-friendly cities (Arvada, Wheat Ridge, etc.) 

We have a lot of them in the Rogers Park, Edgewater, West Ridge areas.
