My last house was bought as a 'maybe flip' as I knew it was a fixer upper and was unsure as to how long I'd be staying in NY....turns out it was a year and a half and I'm about to put it on the market, after turning it around from a tired, neglected mess to a little jewel box.

The buy/sell would also be handled by two real estate agents.I ask because I'm drawing up an offer where the seller has indicated interest in financing, and while I don't want to complicate things (it may scare them, they are older and tired of the property) I do want to have all of my ducks in a row.

My understanding of "Driving for $$" is to target homes that are vacant/abandoned or in disrepair to hopefully grab a tired homeowner with a motivation to sell.

Ben Leybovich makes a good point I suppose, and with rising interest rates, it could be an issue in the future when the banks get tired of the 3.5% mortgages and start calling notes due.

We are tired of replacing carpet in our rental properties so whenever we have tenant turnover, we go back with Alure Strip wood from Home Depot.
