I've narrowed it down to two companies, one is focusing on northern England and the other in Spain, and like I said, each company is doing a great job explaining why their market has the most potential, I'm very confused... can you guys recommend how I should go about this? 

You're 23 years old, seemingly able-bodied, and you claim you can't find a job in an area (New England) with 3.9% unemployment.

My goal is to start with a 4 unit and house hack, then stack up from there in communities across Northern New England.  

The numbers might work on a less passive basis, perhaps self managing and landscaping, owner occupied, more skin in the deal etc...Feel free to reach out and connect with me, I'm in a popular New England market where the numbers might work more favorably in small MF's.

Some things I have learned about Maine that need to be considered though:Taxes are relatively high compared to some other regions (all of New England/northeast are generally high property tax states)Heating and utilities are expensive here and often cut into landlord's profits as some of these are more difficult to pass on to the tenants than in other regionsThe housing stock is generally really really old (early - 1900s) and that comes with a lot more maintenance and CapEx than newer homes.

I am from the New England and have been working 2 different seasonal jobs for the past few years consistently.
