Hey @Daniel Rongo, im a fellow European, currently living and investing in Las Vegas, two of my rentals are short term (airbnb and insurance replacement housing) but they are SFH, not Condo's - if you can get one in the right area for the right price where you can legally run a STR it can be a great asset, but you as it has been said before, be mindful of hoa regulations, current legalisation changes (henderson is voting on new str regulation next tuesday that hopefully effect the current vegas regulations once in place) and definitely know the areas, as theres definitely places that airbnb guests and most regular tenants wont like to stay in.

Its a different story that the FED will come up with creative things next time around (possibly negative interest rates - many european countries have this,etc).Resorting QE/ZIRP for extended periods of time and failing to bring back the economy to NORMAL times (without external stimulus) is not my definition of success.

I don't really know Columbus, but in most major midwest markets in that price range, SFR is going to be the only thing that puts you in better (B) neighborhoods.

I have found it easier to work with my foreign investor clients (Canadian, European, and Asian) who buy and hold properties for monthly cash flow compared to trying to help foreign investors who want to rehab and resell for capital appreciation.

If you look at most major corporations in the US, such as Microsoft, Exxon, BP, Wal Mart, Ford, Cisco, Intel, etc..., I bet they have stock owners who also fund terrorists.
