I think this argument stems, though, from the sticker shock of a $2M fourplex, for example.

Though, I usually just try to spot the homes with the stickers attached - this will involve scout work and actually going into the neighborhoods you're interested in.

As a contractor / real estate agent I can understand the overall sticker shock when it comes to building a house.

If it is a GFCI you're supposed to add the no equipment ground sticker.  

I would try Police Dept (non emergency #), speak with them, maybe have them come out and put sticker on the car.
