We had roommates our first yearish of marriage.

On top of that the house is perfectly renovated and can sell within 80 days in today's market, the catch is that it is his marriage home and he's going through a divorce.  

My question is: How can we separate our business from our marriage?

So we saved over 20k. right out of college during our first year of marriage (hardest 20k I have ever saved since I was in grad school and my husband was a brand new ensign in the navy :) )!

Once you take the money it's like a marriage.  

My husband and I spent the first two years of our marriage paying off debt.

If you are in a good marriage, there are more options available to you by separating the borrower and ownership?  

We actually shared a rental our first year of marriage and it gave us the cushion that allowed us to grow as quickly as we have the last 3 years. 

I'm not a financial adviser nor a marriage counselor, but the combination of "my wife doesn't support it" and "we can't afford it" sound like two of the best reasons not to do it...  :-)
