Hi everyone,Just curious...I live in Japan, I'm from California where my first and only rental income property so far was purchased and I have a really trustworthy friend who is a real estate agent residing in Arizona who I'm thinking to contact in regards to my next rental income property purchase because of the affordable prices in Arizona compared to California.

So currently I am stationed overseas in Japan and when I separate my wife and I will be moving to South Carolina in 2019.

So if we get into any sort conflict with China even a proxy conflict through Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, etc. this fluffy, create nothing economy we currently have will be brought to its knees.  

Get your degree, so you can move to Japan on a working visa and take out a bunch of low rate zero down loans totalling 30-50x your annual salary.

Of course being outside the US for a while you undoubtedly already know there’s additional complexity associated with other tax issuesOne thing you might run into if you sold any of the rentals at a gain is whether your country of residence also taxes them due to being on a worldwide tax system (UK, Japan, and China are a few examples where this might occur but this is not likely to occur in most other countries).

If you were looking to do something like that i would recommend either latin america, china, Japan of India.

I am in the Navy stationed in Japan, I own a SFH in WA State.

Just make sure you can go Long and Short them if this really is the start of our 20 year decline like Japan.

There has been quite an influx of investors from HK purchasing properties in Japan.

But opinions differ, and I know some BPers find the Tokyo meet-ups less than useful.To-date I've only invested in deals here in Japan, but like you I'm looking to start in the US as well.
