The live classroom is definitely better....you can ask real world questions, the instructor typically will included resale world stuff, you can make contacts with others, etc.

The state likes to mix it up and will focus more questions on certain sections.I don't know if they do this anymore but when I took it over a decade ago the previous students would tell our instructor what topics were on the most recent test.

I have gone to various seminars and read various books, but some of the key things which have helped me move from someone who knows about real estate, to someone running a real estate business are: 1) Eric Medemar's courses (one of the few real estate instructors who actually doesn't assume that you have tens of thousands of dollars to invest and walks you through what you need to do to start from scratch.) 2) Larry Goins' $1 bootcamp and manual 3) Finding a mentor here on Bigger Pockets (note: You are looking for someone who will mentor you for free.

I know that there are less expensive alternatives but at the time the location, schedule and time-frame worked out conveniently for me and it was also run by a Keller Williams brokerage that I wanted to join.Personally, my instructor was a bit newer I think and didn't have all the information down pat.
