Note: If you go to the same meeting each month, you can do detail tracking for a month, and can use the same detail to estimate expenses for the rest of the year. ( If nothing changed)2) Meals when traveling away from home - 50% is deductible unless the meal is provided to the general public (like Open houses) then it is 100% deductible.

Qualitatively, that's a much healthier and less risky type of capital appreciation.Sadly, many US and Canadian investors, who are used to and even addicted to cheap debt (which is increasingly less cheap), abandon their idea of investing in Mexico when they learn that financing is either hard to get or more expensive.

If, on the other hand, she's bringing a woman's touch to the house with cleaning, keeping up with cooking meals for everyone, and generally being a better-than-ever addition to the property, I might reconsider on a shorter lease (six months maybe?)

Like the podcasts, ask them how and when they got started, what different strategies they’ve employed, how they like it, how it is working, advice for newbies, pitfalls to avoid etc.After a number of these you’ll start to develop an idea of what direction you want to go in and if you still feel like you’d like to hire a mentor, you’ll better know what skill set you want in them.Heck, maybe you’ll find you can get enough mentoring piece meal just taking investors out for coffee.
