They may use those numbers, till educated....Need to factor things like linoleum hardware store counter-tops and on-sale appliances vs custom imported granite and stainless steel high end appliances, what type of flooring, etc....Price per sqft foot only works in kind-for-kind, cookie cutters, like condos with exact same features and view.

To add to that problem, both the City and County planners are very Liberal and DO NOT want cookie cutter neighborhood developments built.

They're still a good option, as the big banks seem to be scared of any loan that isn't a cookie cutter loan for a homeowner with good credit and income.Lenders are not ok with the downpayment coming from borrowed sources.

For bigger jobs, anything involving manly tools, like saws or tile cutters, any work that could cause water intrusion, ask your laborer to carry general liability insurance to cover him/herself and his/her work.
