Complaints are always dicey when you live or have property in a jurisdiction they scan your license plate and have visibility into your property that may negatively impact you in the future.  

I own 3 SFR in Columbia MO (I live in KCMO) and was using property mgmt, but due to similar difficulties you faced, I opted to self manage and stopped using my mgmt company.

The St Germain Act states that state governments can NOT outlaw due on sale clauses except for transfers from an individual to a revocable living trust.

I make around $110k+ per year, live off around $75K, have a mortgage ($1900/mo for rent, escrow, tax), around $40K in equity, and no other debt. 

Does USAA know that you are living in it?

. :)This is especially true if you rely on furnishedfinder.com as your primary lead source (which you shouldn't, but that's another post) as when you make that connection with a prospective resident, you are selling yourself as a landlord as much as you are the property as a place to live.

I'll let others chime in on their experiences, but from a motivational perspective, I think attending live events and getting the "conference high" is something that only happens through in-person connections and being in the same room with investors who are eagerly pursuing their real estate/financial goals.
