With Iowa being an ownership bid-down state, rather than an interest bid-down, I am not  fond of delving into the on-line auctions.

However, the lawyer I spoke to didn't speak fondly of that idea. 

@Cody L. is correct in that it doesn't save you any money, limits your design and some cities are not fond of it.
