And if you don't have 10' high ceilings now then it's probably not a great idea because the mechanicals will make your finished height much lower and you want to avoid a drop ceiling for max value as well.

I am reaching out to see if anyone knows anything about the type of drywall that is designed to be hung vertically from floor to ceiling, glued to the studs, and has no nails except the bottom(under trim, and top)hidden behind crown molding.

I would thoroughly wash all surfaces, then paint the walls/ceiling, preceding that with an odor-blocking primer.

Also, the supended ceiling in the basement clearly is wrecked from water damage, although during inspection no source could be found and above the ceiling everything looks good.

Here is a breakdown: full kitchen remodel, new heater/AC unit/ducting, all the sheetrock in the ceiling was replaced (bad roof had caused leaking, so it was easier to replace it all),  new lightng throughout (can-styled LED lights), ceiling fans, and some other electrical work, painted interior/exterior, and tuck/pointing to a few areas of the brick facade.
