I checked it out on Trulia and the location has nice restaurants and grocery stores.

Harrisburg University also has plans on constructing a new building in the downtown area next to bar row (2nd street is a one-way street downtown and is referred to as restaurant/bar row) . 

Additionally, it is one of few systems that run 24 hours so it is also a fantastic option for enjoying Philadelphia restaurants and night life. 

For my wife and I the key frugality has been:-we drive inexpensive cars (Yaris, Escape, both older and used)-RARELY eat out at restaurants-one vacation per year- and it's camping within a day's drive from home (and we already have the gear)-small affordable home (bought in 2012 at the bottom of the market- that was just lucky timing)-0 use of credit cards-and hard work to boost earnings That last one isn't so much frugality- but has been the biggest key to saving for us.

Matter of fact, it has most of the fast-food restaurant chains, shopping centers, etc...

The reia meets at the Executive next to the yard restaurant the second Wednesday every month at 6:30.

Everything is on that street...motels, restaurants, convenience stores, etc.

Our arrangement was that 2 of our 5 worked at a local restaurant and covered the bills while my brother and I worked the system.

I think of neighborhoods like rings on a tree, the rings further out get hit worse in a down turn as people move closer in to better neighborhoods that are more walkable to restaurants and good schools.
