You paid for your crime and you should not be chained to a life sentence because of it. 

I would love to get to know some people who may be in the same situation as me where my life is pretty dedicated to my family but would love the opportunity to branch out into a REI career.

Don't jump without looking of course, rather find a senior enlisted or an O you trust within your chain that has bought few homes with VA loans and ask them for some guidance.

Now you also have title chain, insurance and DOS risk on top of business risk.

I was considering replacing the sections that need replacement with chain link.

Do a google search in your area and just call some smaller banks that maybe only have 1-5 branches and ask for a loan officer.

@Mohammad Mahir Khan The first things you should really learn are the costs of owning a rental, do research on property management, property taxes, and insurance as those are all but guaranteed; then branch out from there.
