As for the company I am assuming they purely started wholesaling, but now they do go through and purchase some properties to flip.

There was a glut in wineries not long back when The Australian dollar was high and people who once couldn't get enough of Australian wine suddenly turned back to relatively cheaper and more fancy sounding French and Italian plonk, combined with the change in regulation in the Chinese wine market that killed it as a business drink.

For someone that is purely a passive investor looking to make as much money as possible, I agree that real estate is not the best place right now.  

Some HD vinyl windows really are pure junk. 

In my experience those that go alone often times don't end up closing any deals because it's information overload and they're drinking out of a fire hydrant and don't have any guidance to tell them what to focus on.

MFDUs in high-demand areas like Asheville might be limited, but it’s worth keeping an eye out for smaller duplexes or triplexes that align with your budget.If neither works, continuing to rent while buying a pure investment property in a more affordable nearby market could make sense.
