I'm sure insurance agents like the idea because its a way to pitch high priced, high commission whole life policies that have otherwise been debunked as a reasonable "investment".In reality, the concept of borrowing from a whole life policy is nothing new.

It’s been debunked for years and years. 

He/she should be able to educate the listing agent about the VA loan and debunk a lot of the negative myths surrounding it.

And the often repeated "buy term invest the difference" or "life insurance agent are making a huge commission, so the product is bad" is only proving that you have not studied these products and are relying on other people's opinions with nothing to back it up as it as been debunked many times.

This tweet has been debunked so many times it's slightly embarrassing that some still believe it.
