It's very difficult for a kind, compassionate person to be faced with these types of decisions while acting as a landlord.

I believe this is a fantastic business policy for others.I personally like compassionate landlords as they make for easy pickings when we seek to purchase properties below market with the intent of adding value through rent increases.

If it's an attempted suicide, maybe you could compassionately talk with them and see what's going on, explain the situation as far as being a neighbor, and see what you can do to help.

It's seems clear he has a difficult time getting to and getting in & out of the bathtub, and some of our deferred maintenance included a leaky tub surround, presumably due to the strain placed on the tub by the large gentleman.Not entirely sure what is happening there in regards to his laundry/food situation but it seems clear he must be being enabled in some ways by his roomate.My friend is a compassionate guy, however I am concerned that the property value and quality of life of others in his building could be adversely affected by this tenants presence.

In one of my less than stellar moments as a compassionate listener I said: that's because you were already paid.

The compassionate side of me is saying I should just let this dude buy the house and stay next to his mommy.

He was generous beyond compare, loving and compassionate for his fellow man, inspiring, spontaneous, adventurous and full of laughter.
