If the case was substantial, I would imaging your lawyer could subpoena the officers to have them testify to what they witnessed. 

That will show what proposed tax increase you will see.

Hey @Nevin Wilkie. have you looked on the city or county's tax records to find the mailing address for the owner when it's different than the address of the property you want to buy?

Not sure if it’s already been discussed in this thread but have those that built ADUs experienced a significant increase in property taxes?

Talk with a real estate lawyer as this may work a little different in each state. 

The data they pull from the tax records on how much a home last sold for, often not updated, or completely wrong.
