On top of all of that, he and my mother are scheduled to go on a mission's trip to Africa in August and he won't have the cash to go unless these deals refinanced.Well, miracle of miracles, both refinanced on Friday and I am sending him a big chunk of cash that should ensure he doesn't die of heart attack in the next 6 weeks and that the little children in Africa will actually get something to eat next week.

I would characterize this a misdirected mission (as set in law).I concur and again direct you to the above mentioned academics and their studies especially their recommendations for reform.If you are worried about losing money placed on deposits at banks, you can always hold cash.

I'm sure they view this as consistent with their mission of fostering home ownership.There is also a standard deed restriction with fannie indicating you can't resell for more than 20% above what you paid for 90 days.
