They came by, tried to fix it from my unit, ended up killing the power to half my unit for about 3 weeks before coming back to figure out it was the main breaker was fried and charred like it had tried to catch fire.

simply look were you live in Milwaukee.. and look at all those great 30's and 40s houses on the north side of town you can buy for under 100k but it would cost 400k to rebuild them.. in those areas building new just wont happen until things change demographically and if it does not pencil for you doubt you can sell it to any one else.. so the smaller project maybe what you do.. then at some point in the future where economics catch's up.. you demo the small improvements and go vertical.

This creates a catch 22 - if you find someone available to put a bid on a property you don't already own or under contract on and they are available to bid the project - they are probably not the right person.

Seems to me that if your sales contract says that you are to receive the security deposit then you are entitled to an amount equal to what the leases state, if they say that an amount was collected and he did not collect then shame on him, if the leases say that $0 security deposit was collected then shame on you for not catching it move on with life.
