Hello,It's not uncommon for traditional banks to restrict HELOCs to primary residences only, as they generally view them as less risky.

In my layman's point of view, this is co-mingling and alter-ego violations to piercing the corporate veil. 

And, in all reality it can be viewed as a risk, since it is not the "safe" option.  

In my view you are a good 6 months ahead of the guy if you buy now.
