I found a terrific building, but once I started doing research I realized it was in a very high crime area (murders, drug dealers, etc). 5 blocks away from the building was fine, but the exact location of the building was a really bad area.I would definitely visit any property you're thinking of purchasing, as well as talk to the local police about the area you're considering.Good luck!

@Garan Kama take a look at this page when considering STR and Airbnb in Vegas: http://www.clarkcountynv.gov/administrative-servic...Clark County (where most of the strip is) is outside of the actual city of Las Vegas and transient occupancy of residentially zoned properties has been illegal since the 90's.

Be sure to take some time to really drive around neighborhoods in these areas, as the east side of the river is still really hit or miss with pockets of drugs and otherwise trashy/ sketchy areas.

You need to sit down with the zoning administrator after you pay for a survey that is recorded at the courthouse (because zoning won't talk to you if there's isn't one).
