To be honest, @Luka Jozic (from the thread you linked) doesn't seem to be in terrible shape in my opinion, despite the discouraging comments he received.

I have some awesome barrel picks right now that are pretty unique - I can dm you the links to those if you're interested.I tell people all the time, don't try to check out every store possible hoping to find a unicorn.
