Now as an agent, I come across situations like this on the regular: buyers and sellers always think they know more than they actually do, and often screw something major up without even realizing it.

I didn't hear of him after that, until he shows up at CCIA promoting some bus trip.

I did a double check on my properties (I do this regularly anyway), my discounts remain as I had them previously (I do offer different discounts for length of stay).  

It used to be fine and helpful, but now it's embarrassing when someone doesn't ask about Columbus, Ohio, or the midwest and you drop into a post to suggest Columbus with the benefit to you (self-promotion).

Your challenge is to make your request seem like it’s part of their regular, bureaucratic tasks. 

More people are doing residential real estate nowadays due to online education, social media promotion and community like BP and deals are harder and harder to come by. 

I used to regularly get threatened with lawsuits.  

You can see regularly companies and some individuals here on BP that like to play games and it happens to them.   

In my area it is common for landlords to pay for heat which promotes a lot of abuse with the system in that tenants keep the heat at unreasonably high temperatures and often open the windows in the dead of winter when it can be -20 out.
