However, when I was there folks were grumbling about potential political unrest in that Guatamala has been trying to “annex” or take over Belize for years...not sure jow accurate that is, but you may want to look into the stability of the government too before investing.I think Placencia is a better investment than the cayes because there is a good flow of both local and foreign tourists there whereas the cayes felt 100% dependent on foreign tourism and were pretty dead when we went in Oct.

It is generally reasonable to require a Veterinarian's report on the animal; require the animal be spayed or neutered unless contraindicated by the Vet; must be leashed or in a carrier in hallways/stairwells/elevators or other confined spaces unless that interferes with the tasks the animal performs; handler must clean up after the animal in common areas and ensure no offensive odors emanate from their residence; animal cannot be aggressive toward others, or cause disturbance with barking or other noise that is not an element of their purpose; and tenant must update the "request for accommodation" and Vet report annually.

The only real challenge we faced (aside from the cat odor and fleas in the house) was the fact that the mobile home contractor we were planning to work with to renovate this property passed away unexpectedly before we were able to get started.
