Just purchased a duplex where the heat is controlled by 1 thermostat in the first floor unit.

Hello bigger pockets rockstars,I’m having technical issues installing a digital thermostat into my STR in mount Pocono, Pennsylvania.

Excel for expenses, and a mileage app for travel as needed.I have a Schlage Encode lock and use the Samsung Smart Things hub and app to manage the lock as well as the Emerson Sensi thermostat.

Propane is included in a lease for one of my rentals; tenant keeps her thermostat on 77 in the winter so I have to limit the number of tanks/refills she has in a 12 month period (in her lease).  

For the heat, I like to have a thermostat kind of hidden and locked at set temp such as 68 degrees, and have baseboard electric heaters in the units that way the tenants can "boost" the heat all they want on their own dime.

Is there a locked thermostat set at a acceptable building temperature, always get month to month exact meter readings in Detroit for both DTE services

Wifi enabled smart thermostats also help by allowing you to turn down the heat after renters leave.
