@Aarron Light  Super interesting.I've always wondered about moving a home from a low cost of living area, where you can essentially purchase it for free or next to free and relocating it, within reason, to a higher cost of living area, set it and be well ahead.I was going a little extreme and wanted to relocate homes from Ohio/Michigan over to Ontario but couldn't seem to get any traction on import regs. 

1) If you still live in the property that you bought using the FHA loan, I would cash out refinance to 80% via a Fannie Mae loan, for a loan amount of $148,000.00 with no MI. 2) I would take the additional 15-20K and use it to pay down the 3rd property you bought after having an appraisal to request the MI be removed.

My coworker is investing in Michigan and we live in California 

But if you want to take out MI from the loan you need to refinance in to conventional loan.
