Another way to get involved is to find a partner on the ground in San Antonio and invest alongside them. 

If you can find a role to work alongside experts, you minimize your risks and accelerate your learning curve. 

First, are you a DIY investor, wanting to manage your real estate investments or do you want to be more of a passive investor, preferring to invest alongside experts in say syndication deals? 

I would recommend taking a look at the Gastiona & Concord area and parts of Statesville alongside the CLT metro as well. 

If your goal is long-term buy and hold, the purchase price is still important, but it has to be considered alongside the opportunity cost of the time you wait to find a bargain. 

After doing this a few more times, we began re-allocating our sale proceeds into syndicated acquisitions alongside third party investor equity.

Maybe you should move to a different market to get started with a lower barrier of entry to get started in real estate alongside being an agent or get a w-2 job and look at investing out of state.

I would get a good GC to work alongside the foundation company...to check doors and windows and such as the work progresses.
