Navigating in a world where you'll sometimes have to work with people you don't like.Training yourself to have follow through and perseverance. 

Its not, and the lions share will go to those that persevere and adapt.May we all be those people.

Given the price, I am going to have to suck it up and persevere to the end.

I commend you for your determination, perseverance, and impetus to stay focused on your goals in light of your adversities and obstacles in life.The best thing I can tell you is this...as an investor starting out, I would do these 3 things:1) Take advantage of the wealth of information available to you here on BiggerPockets. 

It is just a numbers game so as long as you have patience and perseverance you can still land a deal with FHA.

For all they do in the name of "affordable housing" I think they scare away many investors and due to added costs and red tape that have the opposite effect of making things "affordable" but there is money to be made by those willing to persevere due to the limited supply.  4) both renovations have cost more and takes longer than originally estimating so I've built in a big enough buffer so I can still make money even if that happens.  5) I've flown to Pittsburgh often, but couldn't have done it without some reliable boots-on-the ground, no way.And yes, let's get some McRibs and share stories. 

Some people succeed and some fail; this is the "Law of the Jungle" and I know perseverance and enough desire can overcome any obstacles.
