It's worth going if you've never been to one before, but like I said, leave the credit cards at home.Enjoy the pumped up, enthusiastic atmosphere they'll provide, but instead of signing up for a coaching program try a different mission: Collect business cards or contact information for at least 5 people close to you (where it would be convenient for both of you to get together every 2-4 weeks), who are either at your level or one notch above.Then after the event, make it your mission to have coffee/tea/whatever with each of those people, either individually or as a group.

Things to look for are culture, energy, training, commission splits and support and coaching.

Thinking about going to an all day event of his in a week or so and I know part of it will involve up-selling his coaching services. 

The problem is the RE investing sector is full of people who want to charge a fee for less than great advice.I have been investing for 35+ years; Hawaii to London England.I went a long way before I ever paid a mentor or coach.

Hey community ,I have a deal in the works and I'm new but with all the reading i've done in this site i wanted to try my hand and apply the knowledge with no coaching, and as little money into the deal.

My grandmother is sitting on about $26,000 and knows I just began investing in real estate so she is offering to "gift" me that if I buy a SFH that also has some kind of coach house or apartment on the property (this way I would be close if she needs assistance, but not too close where we are actually living with each other).I'm having a hard time finding these types of properties in suburban Illinois.

I think something that is missing from this investing space is coaching and mastermind groups.
