If you do, you have to factorin some of the issues with how the refrigerant changemight affect ongoing maintenance costs.The trick is that the old refrigerant is no longer made in the same quantities (or maybe at all) and to chargethe old units is going to cost you a ton should someone snip it and the freon leak out.Also, I'm not sure how two unit systems work.

For things like a refrigerator I would have that in the lease as something provided without warranty as there are factors (i.e. used in the garage with extreme heat or cold, max temp setting usage, etc.) outside your control that can cause problems.I also rely on good trades (have some in DFW) that won't take me to the cleaners on repairs.

Or, as it took me a while to convince my daughter, if your priority is really owning a home, deal with the roommate, learn to hide your drinks in your room, stop buying so much refrigerator food and keep staples in your room, get a lock for your own bedroom door, and each month you deposit a few hundred dollars by splitting expenses with a roommate (cable is $60 each, not $120; power is $40/month, not $80, etc.), congratulate yourself on one month closer to your goal.
