I think the showing of the weapon gives the wrong impression of the house, neighborhood and/or even the client thinking their presence poses a threat to the agent.Concealed carry for protection I agree with.

Real estate associations (like the REALTOR association) I think are a great place to start and helped to grow my past PM business.Referrals for doing a great job for current owners your managing for.Also online / web presence - this was the #1 way new owners found and signed up with us.

I will say that as technology increases so should your online presence. 

With that being said I think we should compose a list of everyone's top books that have shaped them in there business.

The public is free to create their own data exchange and there are many RE portals that attempt this (often largely composed of a feed from the MLS).  

A few positives is that there is a prison there that employs alot of corrections people, and border patrol has a strong presence there.
