My long term goal was “get rich”, and my strategy for any investment was “make money”, LOL.  

We want control of our lives, a relatively predictable future, and to spend lots of time with our kids (both under 2).Its great to see people talking about more realistic goals for real estate--e.g. not getting super rich and managing hundreds of units.

Most of the people there were looking for the magic pill to make them rich without putting in the work.

Anyone selling you a crystal ball would be too rich and elite to be here on BP.

All I end up finding is a bunch of get rich quick ads and platforms, 'gurus' who just want a earn a quick buck promoting videos and e-books filled with a bunch of positive affirmations and testimonials and never showcase how the process of tax lien and deeds actually work, webinars that are not informative and avoid the actual process of acquiring a tax lien or deed, and so forth.

I know this isn't some get-rich-quick scheme.

Well, within reason, having available liquidity is almost always preferable to being house rich and cash poor.

(I find this hard to believe as Pres Fair Share & Tax-the-Rich will have to sign it.
