@Russell Brazil My initial intention was to occupy the space and make it my permanent residence, however my fathers health deteriorated shortly after I made the purchase, which is why I made the decision to stay with my parents and try and rent the apartment out, rather then sell and take a loss.

My partner had unforeseen health issues during the project and I had vacations and softball.

The numbers currently make sense but we are concerned with the potential Health risks as well as how this could effect us being able to rent the units in the future or selling  the property a few years down the road.

A tenant says "xyz" (sewer gas, mold, peeling paint, etc.) is making the property uninhabitable and a health or safety issue, so they are not paying rent, or pay whatever they feel like.Question we always ask in court:  "If you feel the property is uninhabitable, why are you still occupying it?"  

My husband still works full time by choice construction, and for health insurance. 

I recently met a landlord who is looking to liquidate the townhouses he owns for health reasons.

No one wants to see/smell it and it is a health violation.

Get tax returns, search the state corporate records, BBB, state law suits, check with accountants and legal offered to you on health and reputation of LLC.
