It depends on the type of bankruptcy and debt being discharged, but the point is equating eviction and bankruptcy is comparing two dissimilar things. 

Student loan debt should be dischargeable in BK. 

The sump will have a small macerating pump that discharges through a 1-2" pressure line back to the sewer main and from there it gravity flows.

Qualified education loans aren't dischargeable through bankruptcy; so you will need to pay it off at some point, and it will remove a lot of mental baggage once it is paid off.

There were several tax sale properties that had multi-million dollar IRS tax liens NOT discharged by the sale, that I have seen.

Along with unlearning some bad habits and developing good ones, you have so many resources already at your disposal, and with a bit of discipline, your debts could be discharged in under a year.  

My tour here is coming to an end, and I will soon be honorably discharged from the service. 

Even though you mostly need their involvement on property one, I would bring them in either on the easier property (#2) - if you believe you can discharge them quickly - or on both to mitigate their risk a little.You can then get the easier property (the second one) turned around and off the books quickly - and payback your private lender - while slowly working your way into the more involved rehab.
