There is the fuel source (oil/gas) which you mentioned but also the type of system (hot water baseboard, steam, forced air) all of which have their advantages/disadvantages which might influence your thinking.

Both have their advantages and disadvantages, but in my opinion and several other investors I know holding is the best.

Most who have a foreclosure walk away and don't look back, but I've found that when you're dealing with large amounts of equity, borrowers will be looking and if the collateral has unreasonable amounts of equity to secure a debt, the lender is at a disadvantage, not an advantage. :)

I too, had never purchased from a WS deal and have struggled with determining repair cost, which has put me at some disadvantages over the past year.
