If not they could spend money and time and offend buyers if they update the property incorrectly.There are other options, such as landlording.

Ask them if you deposit say $250k with them as MM or CD with them having control over it.  

You never want to build a business that is completely reliant upon another platform that you have no control over.

If you add unit to your home, your home likely became rent controlled.  

We are going to spend about 20K to bring it up to par but defiantly worth it.

Martin the property management argument isn't really an argument if you look at the bigger picture that most investors don't want to manage their properties anyways because they are spending most of the time on their main job.

This greatly helps me to be location independent and spend good amount of time in India.

Kevin I’m not saying it’s a good or bad investment and this is nothing against your personally but at some point you will HAVE to fully dive in and fully understand the scope of your investment whether it’s turnkey or anything else if you are going to a chance at ‘controlling’ the outcome you are seeking.
