These are not nationally known locations, but still pretty popular drive-to vacation spots for Minneapolis, Chicago, Milwaukee and Detroit metros. 

As a newbie, I think it's a great idea to be a short distance/drive away from your 1st investments!

You also shouldn't drive over them with a vehicle.

If you can do the deal yourself safely, with reserves to cover unexpected issues, it is a lot cleaner.

Being in Orlando it's one of the more safe areas for hurricanes but make sure you pay attention to flood zones, get flood insurance as necessary in case of flash floods in rivers, and make sure you can get legitimate insurance providers.
