But that would be highly unusual if he's still doing work on it, so I'm guessing that's not the case.Hopefully some of this is covered in your contract (i.e. specific/identified deadlines that he's missed, penalties for missing deadlines, etc), so I'd make sure you review your contract before doing anything.

Does anyone know if there are any 'hardship clauses' or anything that would allow for a deadline extension of an IRS 121 Exclusion?

.- Your contract probably has deadlines for various things for the buyer and seller (inspection, applying for financing, etc.) - it's a good idea to go through the contract and make a Timeline Worksheet that you can provide to your client so you are both on the same page.

Lot of dead lines but sometimes you get good ones.
