Make a STINK.It worked for me when they wouldn't stand behind the Ryobi junk battery chargers we were using.They made it right.Yes, there's still the rule of law here in the US and their run-around will only get them so far.I also had a very negative experience with their supposed FREE INSTALLATION carpet promotion. 

The battery died on the Thermostat.

Simple fix , change the recepticle and add battery smoke detectors .The only problem is number 3 showing an open ground . that needs a second opinion of a real electrician .

I notate the gift in the lease as it requires them to change batteries once per year.   

You should be doing regular inspections to insure filters are changed, batteries are changed, no water/fixtures are leaking and that your tenant is in compliance with your lease.

Batteries last a good year.

@Christine Kankowski I'm in the @Michael Seeker boat as my PM does quarterly air filter replacements and usually will annually change out things like a smoke alarm battery. 

If you had a new build in a high cost area where you did a solar roof, with a battery, and were marketing to plug-in car owners.
