If the electric is cut off , I have to evict , first to preserve the property , second the smoke alarms are electric with battery back up , but they chirp when the electric is off so they will disable them .

They also stole the batteries out of all the smoke detectors.  

Each meter came with it's own Blu Tooth transmitter and 7 year battery.

Let say  I want to build a 3,000 square foot home would it be cheaper to build a module home or have a construction company do it.

Just installed all new smoke detectors and a CO2 detector with 10 year batteries and voice in the rentals.

What can I do to be more proactive here...backup battery in sump pump, generator, etc.?

It is four different modules that are a week long each. 

For pharmacies that go dark they are easily re-tenanted if location and demographics are strong.I have seen Chase banks, battery plus stores, dollar stores, etc. go in those for second generation tenants.Where I believe people get in trouble is buying low cap rates in what I call weak suburban to rural communities at low cap rates.
