Bloomfield schools are not the best, though some of the elementary schools are quite nice. 

How are the schools in that area?

@Noah Bacon my sister was the one put down over 250K down payment for the house, I had been helping paying their mortgage for most of the time because my nephew has no money since he is still in school, just his name is on the loan and title.  

Credit Unions can be great but you're at the mercy of their individual guidlelines and old school Underwriting "gut checks".We(Lower.com), offer HELOCs on investment properties and 2nd homes, we go off of the "Agency Definition" of a 2nd home which is "occupied for some portion of the year".

Hey Miles,I am currently in graduate school in MEM for physical therapy, and over the last year or so I've been diving into the real estate world by reading books, researching online, etc.

There is two properties I'm going to look at tomorrow morning. 1 is in York City in a good block relative to the area and another I'm really excited about in northeastern school district that has opportunity for value add and is priced appropriately.

I've noticed vacation rental signs here in Newport Beach where I surf, indicating that short-term rentals are allowed.

Luckily I was driving over with my son to move all his stuff from his apartment to a storage unit at WSU so he can move into a single apartment for his grad school work.I was thinking it was the 2 water line screens.

Either way its two great spots both for schools and overall strong growth in residential and commercial.  

But there's no school like managing it directly and learning from our guests and others.
