If you sell, for consistent income, you'd need to figure the return on a new and hopefully larger/better rental.After that it becomes an IRR comparision, UNLESS, there are non-monetary considerations involved like sentimental value.

It sounds like you didn't talk to the tenants at all and now they're rightfully upset that you're trying to change the terms of the agreement.Unless this is furniture of sentimental value or significant monetary value, I would let it go.

I understand the sentiments behind these tenant protections but I think they are going to drive off developers and exacerbate an already tight housing market because developers will just stop building If they can’t turn a profit.
