There ought to be a ridiculous number of flooded homes for sale in TX, I wouldn't pay $3000 for the privilege of buying one!  

The purchaser shall, however, have the privilege and option of proceeding with the consummation of this contract without regard to the amount of the reasonable value established by the Department of Veterans Affairs.I expect your Realtor may have only included this contingency in the contract. 

More proof...landlords are not permitted access to any official tenants past rental history....evictions are privileged information.We live here and we invest here....you do not have to do that and should not do that if you have options.

Not only that, they abused the privilege by allowing their friends to come over and wash.

And for the privilege of paying some of the highest property tax rates in the country (we had 5 or 7 counties in the top 10 in the USA, last I checked) we have some of the worst schools in the state, no new 'real' businesses, deteriorating roads, and receive no services (garbage, recycling, etc.) in return.  

That is a privileged conversation.

And if I understand you correctly then some else (the tenant-buyer) will pay you $10,000 up front every 2 years for the privilege of leasing the house (from you for monthly payments I assume).   

As mentioned before I come from a country where having an AC was a privilege BUT I am at least expecting honesty.

I am privileged to have a couple of great team in Ohio  and that makes investing  possible.

Word to the wise for anyone that may be interested in this area though...we're paying $9,800 per month (yes...per month, not annual) for his care and had to sit through a wait list for the privilege.
